"A little crab that is not feeling well
is looking for a place to rest so it can feel better."
The book "Lit'l Crabie" was created while my youngest son William slept in my lap. When he was an infant he had a milk intolerance. There was nothing on the market to help comfort him from tummy aches and colic. The old fashioned hot water bottles were too big and bulky; they also smelled like rubber. Not too appealing to a baby!
I wrote this book while I held him - at that time I was always holding him because the minute I laid him down, he would start crying again. I painted the illustrations on the floor next to his swing. The rocking motion of his swing and the red, black & white toys that he clung to were my inspiration for my story..."All day I rock and rock and rock some more. I have to crawl up and sit on the shore." Alas, Lit'l Crabie was born...Soon to follow was "The Comfort Crab". Finally something he could hold on to that was soft, warm & smelled of lavender, not rubber!
The book "Lit'l Crabie" is a 7" x 5 1/2" paperback book.
